NPTechProjects offers “Impact Circles to Executive Directors” of nonprofit organizations in Southwest Florida. The Impact Circles are designed to assist ED’s in the management of technology regardless of experience and knowledge as well as their current strategic and tactical challenges. Each member brings and shares their thoughts, experiences, and goals in a confidential, non-threatening fashion in order to assist and derive benefit from the other members of the circle. We believe that we can assist the ED’s to become as confident in their management of technology as they are in managing marketing, communications, and human resources. As in all industries, linking strategy with technology improves the performance of organizations.
Each month a limited number of ED’s will meet to discuss a specific topic, and to talk about issues that are affecting their organizations now and in the immediate future. Within the Impact Circle there will most likely be other ED’s who have addressed the same issues, with and without success. Those conversations are priceless because the barriers to success are met sooner and with the advice of a group of like minded individuals.
In addition to discussing issues each member will be encouraged to develop specific plans for their organization with time based goals for success. The successes are celebrated, and still existing barriers are addressed.
The membership of each circle is composed of ED’s who are not competing with other members with either core missions, users of services, or donors. Discussions are intended to be confidential, and it is our experience that members quickly see themselves as part of a team.
Each meeting will be facilitated by one or two of our key people. Jim O’Reilley who has experience in facilitating this type of program, and who has worked in not for profit, for profit, and government organizations will be the primary facilitator. Birgit Pauli-Haack who has worked in not for profit technology for nearly twenty years will facilitate when the monthly subject area leans to the more technical side such as planning for data security. In many cases both will be participating.
What an executive director writes about Impact Circles
The ‘Impact Circles’ has provided me the opportunity to sit around the table with other Executive Directors to discuss the day-to-day operations of our nonprofits. We are fortunate to have the expertise of Jim O’Reilley and Birgit Pauli-Haack leading the group and they certainly put a lot of planning into each meeting. Jim & Birgit make sure we have an agenda and reading/supporting materials before each meeting so that each ED is ready to jump right into the discussion. They are definitely respectful of not only our time, but also helping us to work with pending issues, which often relates to all the others. We discuss what has worked for us as well as what hasn’t worked and at the same time building a great network.” – Brenda Brooks
